+ Facts! The national flag of the Czech Republic (Czech: státnívlajka České republiky) is the same as the flag of the formerCzechoslovakia. Upon the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, the CzechRepublic kept the Czechoslovak flag while the Slovak Republicadopted its own flag. The first flag of Czechoslovakia was based onthe coat of arms of Bohemia, and was white over red. This wasidentical to the Flag of Poland, so a blue triangle was added atthe hoist in 1920.
