The amenities are nice but the real star of the show at HeritageHills is the high quality course design. This is an 18-hole publicgolf course operating under the direction of the Rogers CountyPublic Facilities Authority. The project was conceived in the 1970sas a subdivision of Claremore Junior College, now known as RogersState University. The layout was designed by Donald Sechrest ofTulsa. It is a challenging golf course that plays up to 6,756 yardswith a course rating and slope of 72.7 & 129 respectively. Thelayout is dominated by a mixture of hilly and flat terrain. Thereare water hazards on 15 of 18 holes, but not all hazards are inplay for most golfers. There are currently 35 sand bunkers and 4grass bunkers. HHGC has a classic architecture that gives reward towell played golf shots. Misguided shots will often result in deeplies, sidehill terrain, and ample wooded areas. Fairways, tees, andsurrounds are sodded with Bermuda, and greens are PenncrossBentgrass.
