Hill’s DIGESTIVE INDEX is a free smartphone web appforveterinarians to quickly and easily score the severity of thesignsof chronic enteropathy (CE) / inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)bycompleting one of two published scoring systems – thechronicinflammatory bowel disease activity index (CIBDAI) or thecaninechronic enteropathy clinical activity index (CCECAI). Thetotalscore ‘dashboard’ is a very easy way for you as clinician toshowthe severity of the problem to the owner. By reassessing thescoreafter treatment, it also provides you an objective visual aidtoshow improvement (or deterioration) of the situation to thepetparent. This app is not designed for the diagnosis of CE orIBD,only as an aid in its management. Proper diagnosis andpatientmanagement are always the responsibility of theattendingveterinary surgeon.
