The 2017 CAN is the edition No. 31 of theAfrica Cup of Nations football organized in Gabon. Thischampionship will take place from January 14 to February 5, 2017 onthe grounds of the quarter stadiums of Libreville, Franconville,Port- Gentil and Oyem.

The Omar Bongo stadium in Libreville was to be chosen to host theopening match and the final but due to a delay in construction, thestadium could not be delivered on time. Therefore, on October 13,2016, the CAN Organizing Committee decided to disqualify thisstadium. It will be replaced by the Stade de l'Amitié (Staded'Angondjé), which already hosted matches of the CAN 2012.
