There are many reasons why someone would keep a pet bird or parrot.For some, it is a symbol of their social status and for others, itis their love for animals that makes them adopt pets. Populations are sedentary in the southand west of the range, although northern birds migrate south as faras northern Africa and tropical Asia in winter.
