Sant SHREE ODHAVRAMJI MAHARAJ
Created a revolution in the 1930’s in a land that had no literary,no power, no transport, no money & no dreams- at that time.

He had no love for perishable things and his sole concern wasself-realization. He taught a moral code of love, forgiveness,helping others, charity, contentment, inner peace, and devotion toGod and guru.
He gave no distinction based on religion or caste.

Sant Shree Odhavramji (1889–1957) was an Indian religiousteacher and a follower of Mohandas Gandhi. He campaigned foreducation, the poor, and the rights of Dalits.
Kutch is the land of sants but it faces drought every alternateyear & sometimes a couple of droughts together. In thissituation the most affected is cattle. Mainly Cows. In Hindumythology The Cow is considered Holy & worshiped. SantOdhavramji always said “Saving these speechless cattle is the first& foremost responsibility of a true Hindu. If one has to giveaway everything he has and even his life for this noble cause itworth”.

In 1943, Sant Odhavramji supported Gandhiji’s movement to acceptthe untouchables as part of the society. And he won his battle forHumanism with pride and dignity.
Harijans got their rightful place in the society.

Sant Odhavramji was firm and dedicated in his decisions &this dedication made Gurukul dream come true. The first gurukul ofKutch was named Ishwarramji Gurukul & inaugurated on VasantPanchmi 1937.
Odhavramji welcomed his first batch of 330 students. Later SantOdhavramji also started the batch for blind.

In 1942 Sant Odhavramji started a movement for the Bhanushalicommunity,
Sant Odhavramji decided to draw a path for his own community andtraveled across villages & cities preaching the importance ofeducation.
And Today each and every Bhanushali are well educated, firmed andtruly following the path shown by Shree Sant Odhavramji.
