Description

A rose is a woody perennial flowering plantofthe genus Rosa, in the family Rosaceae, or the flower itbears.There are over a hundred species and thousands of cultivars.Theyform a group of plants that can be erect shrubs, climbingortrailing with stems that are often armed with sharpprickles.Flowers vary in size and shape and are usually large andshowy, incolours ranging from white through yellows and reds. Roseshave acquired cultural significance in manysocieties. Rose plantsrange in size from compact, miniature roses,to climbers that canreach seven meters in height. Different specieshybridize easily,and this has been used in the development of thewide range ofgarden roses.[1]
