إن هذه الخواطر هي خلاصة تجاربي في الحياة، لم أنقل شيئًا منها منكتاب، ولا استعنت فيها بآراء غيري من الناس، وأعتقد أن من حقالجيل
الذي أتى بعدنا أن يطلع على تجاربنا، وأن يستفيد من خبرتنا إذا وجدفيها ما يفيد، وهذا خير ما نقدمه به من هدية، إننا لا نستطيع أن نمليعليه آراءنا
إملاءً، وليس ذلك من حقنا ، وإنما نستطيع أن نقدم له النصح والموعظة،وخير النصح ما أعطته الحياة نفسها، وأبلغ الموعظة ما اتصل بتجاربالحياة ذاﺗﻬا، والناس وإن اختلفت مشارﺑﻬم وعقولهم وطباعهم، فإﻧﻬميلتقون على كثير من حقائق الحياة، ويجتمعون على كثير من الرغباتوالحاجات والأهداف.
وإني إنما أقدم هذه التجارب لمن عاش في مثل تفكيرنا وأهدافنا ومطامحناومقاييسنا فهؤلاء الذين ينفعون ﺑﻬا، أما الذين يخالفوننا في العقيدةأو
الاتجاه فق ّ ل أن يستفيدوا منها، ولا أعتقد أﻧﻬم يستطيعون الصبر علىكثير مما جاء فيها من خواطر وأفكار، فمن أجل أولئك نشرت ما كتبت، أماهؤلاء
المخالفون لنا في الاتجاه والنظرة إلى حقائق الحياة ومشكلاﺗﻬا، فكل ماأرجو أن يستمعوا إليه، وأن يقرؤوه على أنه يمثل وجهة نظر في مشاكلمجتمعنا الذي
نعيش فيه، ولا سبيل إلى إنصاف مخالفك في الرأي إلا أن تستمع إليه وترىما عنده، فقد تجد فيما تسمع –إن كنت طالبًا للحق– بعض الصواب الذيكنت
تظنه خطأ، وبعض الحق الذي كنت تراه باط ً لا، وقد مدح الله عبادهالمؤمنون "الذين يستمعون القول فيتبعون أحسنه".
