Important note to kirtaneers:
1) Kirtan is an extension of our sadhana to share the devotiontowards Holy names of the Lord with others.
2) For doing this well, we must be chanting 16 rounds daily andfollow the four regulative principles to increase our purity,mercy, austerity and turthfulness (the four legs of Dharma).
3) The more the purity in us, the more our kirtans will have effectin the audience.

NEVER do Kirtan for instant gratification of subtle body ego(pratishtha-asha) or for making a crowd happy. This is verydangerous, but many kirtaneers fall into this trap withoutrealizing it. This will be counter productive for your sadhana andfor others attending the kirtan. Kirtan should only be done in aproper mood of submissiveness and devotion towards the Lord.
