Anticamente, i proverbi erano i pilastri del vivere sociale. Conun proverbio si poneva fine a una discussione, con i proverbi sispiegavano ai figli le regole della vita, con i proverbi si dava esi accettava una spiegazione a fatti – naturali e soprannaturali –di per sé incomprensibili. E chi parlava “perproverbi” era ritenuto persona saggia edequilibrata.\n
